Nicosia’s Carnival is a free popular event running five days from Fat Thursday to Shrove Tuesday. Allegorical floats themed around the 24 Barons cross the historic centre several times a day; food stalls offer traditional sweets (Pizziddati, Nocattoli) and cannoli; local companies perform in the squares.
Target capacity: 1,500 visitors/day, ~4,500 total over five days.
Nicosia’s Carnival is a family-first event. Children are at the centre: masks, sweets, scenery. No loud music, no alcohol in the main square.
