What to do
A typical day
- Morning: Albereto Dairy visit + make-your-own-mozzarella workshop for the kids. Leave with the mozzarella you made.
- Lunch: Nebrodi agriturismo. Traditional cuisine, animals to pet, outdoor play area.
- Afternoon: Historic centre walking tour (90 minutes) with the local guide, or Museum of the Mountain.
- Dinner: Pizza in the historic centre or a traditional trattoria.
- Sunday morning: Cathedral, traditional-products market in Piazza Garibaldi, departure after lunch.

When to come
- Historic Carnival of Nicosia Allegorical floats on a 24 Barons theme, traditional sweets markets, mask contest. Five days of carnival in the open historic centre.
- Casazza of Nicosia (Holy Week) The itinerant sacred procession Giuseppe Pitrè described as the most imposing in Sicily. Ligurian origins from the 16th century, modern re-edition since 2016 after 160 years of silence.
- San Felice Pilgrimage Trail Annual pilgrimage organised by the Friars Minor Capuchins of Nicosia. An existing route through the places of the saint's life. Dates and registrations managed directly by the religious community.
- Corpus Domini with Infiorata The Corpus Domini solemnity with the procession of the Most Holy Sacrament beneath a carpet of petals. A Sicilian tradition that has shrunk in Nicosia and that the Diocese intends to revive.
Practical
What to bring and what to know
- Best season: April-June and September-October. July-August are hot, but the summer sagre make up for it.
- Shoes: comfortable. The historic centre has gradients.
- Spare clothes: at the dairy you can get dirty. Bring a change.
- Safety: family-first events (Carnival, Christmas Market) are designed for children. The White Night is not for families.
- Children's pricing: free under 6, 50% off between 6 and 14.
