The Camiolo family

The Camiolo family is one of the 24 baronial stocks that shaped Nicosia’s civil and architectural history. Over the centuries, the baronial families built a fabric of palaces and residences that still forms the monumental identity of the historic centre.

The palace

The Palazzo Camiolo is part of the network of baronial palaces in the Nicosian centre. The building is photographically documented and belongs to the civil heritage mapped by ARO — Architettura, Rilievo, Opera in its study of Sicilian historic palaces.

Heritage in study

The exact construction date, later interventions and historical events of the Camiolo family are being consolidated with the municipal historical archive and with researchers studying the archive of the 24 Nicosian baronial families. Vivi Nicosia updates this entry as new verifications come in.
