The La Motta di San Silvestro family

The La Motta di San Silvestro family is one of Nicosia’s 24 historic baronial stocks. The name “La Motta” also appears in the toponymy of the territory — the La Motta locality gave its name to the Gran Premio La Motta, the historic Nicosian motoring event.

The palace on Via Addiencante

The Palazzo La Motta di San Silvestro faces onto Via Addiencante, one of the arteries of Nicosia’s historic centre. The street stands out for its concentration of noble palaces and for the architectural glimpses that make it one of the most photographed places in the historic centre.
