A time machine back to the 1950s
The Gran Premio La Motta is an international dynamic concours d’élégance: classic cars from the world’s most prestigious collections move through a period setting recreated in Nicosia, taking the public and the participants back to the 1950s.
In 2026 the event reaches its third edition, scheduled for 3-4 October. It is organised by the Associazione Veicoli Storici di Nicosia.
The Targa La Motta
The 2026 edition introduces the “Targa La Motta” prize, reviving the trophy created in 1952 by the Marzotto family in memory of Barone Stefano La Motta, and won outright by the champion Piero Taruffi — twice winner of the Giro di Sicilia, in 1954 and 1955.
The trophy, awarded to the winners of the concours, is the work of Nicosian artist Maurizio Cannizzo, who drew inspiration from Maestro Salvo Manuli, author of the graphics that have long accompanied the initiatives of the Associazione Veicoli Storici di Nicosia.
