A pilgrimage, not a walking holiday
The Cammino di San Felice da Nicosia is a five-day walking pilgrimage, from the Nebrodi coast up to Nicosia, on the trail of the Capuchin saint. The 2026 edition runs from 19 to 23 August under the title “I lift my eyes to the mountains: the Canticle walking towards horizons of fraternity”.
It is organised by the “Cammino San Felice da Nicosia” association with the Capuchin friars of Nicosia, under the patronage of the councils of Tusa, Pettineo, Motta d’Affermo, Mistretta and Nicosia.
The five stages
- Wednesday 19 August. Meet at 7:30 in Nicosia, at the Capuchin friars’ garden, then transfer by bus to Villa Margi. First stage: Milianni – Tusa.
- Thursday 20 August. Second stage: Tusa – Pettineo.
- Friday 21 August. Third stage: Pettineo – Motta d’Affermo – Mistretta.
- Saturday 22 August. Fourth stage: Mistretta – the Campanito lakes – Caserma San Martino, home to the mountain museum.
- Sunday 23 August. Fifth stage: Caserma San Martino – Nicosia.
Registration and what to bring
- Registration closes on 30 July 2026, or earlier once 40 pilgrims are reached.
- A support minibus follows the group and carries the backpacks.
- For overnight stays inside the shelters you need a sleeping mat and sleeping bag.

ViviNicosia does not handle registration and does not sell the Cammino as a package: you deal directly with the association and the friars.
Not to be confused
The August walk is a different thing from the Feast of San Felice on 31 May, with the procession of the saint’s vara, and from the horseback pilgrimage held in July.
