The biscuit takes the square
On the eve of Ferragosto, Piazza Re Federico fills up for the Sagra del Biscotto: at the centre of the evening is Nicosia’s traditional biscuit, the bakery-and-home staple that has always gone hand in hand with the town’s feasts. The date is Friday 14 August 2026 from 8:30pm.
The dance night
Alongside the sagra comes the serata danzante — the dance night — with the live musical show by Gli Assi music&events: you taste, you dance, and the square does the rest, in full August-evening mode.
Under the sign of the Assunta
The sagra is one stop in the festivities for Maria S.S. Assunta, the feast that culminates on 15 August: the evening of the 14th is, in effect, the open-air prologue to Nicosia’s Ferragosto.
