Vasco in the square, on Ferragosto night
On Saturday 15 August at 10:30 pm Ale, il frontman del palco, takes the stage with his biker’s band: Vasco Rossi’s songbook played live on the busiest evening of the Nicosian summer, when the town is full of families and of Nicosians back home for the August feasts.
The day of the Assumption
15 August is also the day Nicosia celebrates Maria SS. Assunta and closes the fortnight of the Maria SS. Assunta celebrations. The concert is the music night in the square, separate from the religious moments of the day: two sides of the same Ferragosto.
Good to know
- The two sources disagree on the venue: the band’s poster says Piazza dell’Orologio, the confraternity’s programme says Piazza Re Federico. Worth checking the organisers’ channels.
- The evening is run by the Confraternita Maria SS. Assunta, which two nights earlier also puts on the Time 90 Dance Show.
